Our client, an internationally active family-owned company in the field of electrical engineering, needs your support!

Your future area of responsibility includes:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of spend and cost structures for a diverse portfolio of legacy electrical and electronic products and components.

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement robust cost-saving initiatives, such as supplier negotiations, alternative sourcing, value engineering, and process or design optimization—drawing on deep sector knowledge.
  • Strategically partner with the Purchasing Manager to set priorities and build actionable, high-impact cost-down plans.
  • Engage closely with product engineering and production teams, applying advanced design for assembly and electrical/electronic manufacturing principles to maximize cost reductions and enhance product quality.
  • Facilitate integrated efforts with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to develop sustainable and scalable solutions.
  • Lead supplier negotiations based on prior extensive experience in the electrical and electronic industries, achieving optimal value while maintaining standards for reliability and compliance.
  • Systematically document and report progress on all cost reduction initiatives, presenting clear, quantitative updates to leadership throughout the project duration.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and relevant industry regulations for all implemented changes.
  • Deliver a comprehensive final report summarizing strategies, outcomes, and practical recommendations for maintaining cost savings post-project.
  • If time permits, assist with sourcing of additional components beyond the scope of legacy products, collaborating with the Purchasing Manager and relevant teams to identify opportunities for improved value and supply chain efficiency.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; an advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • At least 10 years of direct experience in the electrical and electronic industries, with substantial hands-on involvement in legacy product cost management, procurement, manufacturing, and cost reduction projects.
  • Documented history of leading and executing cost down projects yielding significant savings specifically within electrical and electronic products and assemblies.
  • Proficient in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, especially product engineering, production (design for assembly), and supplier management within the electrical/electronic sector.
  • Proven ability to deliver tangible results in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, with advanced skills in project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, demonstrated through previous high-impact roles in the electrical and electronic field.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills; able to drive consensus and motivate teams toward shared goals.
  • Advanced familiarity with ERP systems and cost analysis tools, preferably in environments focused on electrical and electronic product lines.
  • Fluent in English & German
  • Hands-on mentality – pragmatic, solution-oriented, proactive
  • Work permit (visa/green card for the USA is a requirement)

  • Duration: 6 months with a mandate for clear, tangible, and reportable cost savings and process improvements
